Two days of practising the things that matter, run in-house by our own instructors. Boat handling under power and sail, mooring, recovery, and whatever the people aboard want to work on.
It serves two purposes. For anyone it is a refresher that builds confidence. For club skippers it is the currency check, and the club asks for one every two years.
Two days. £172 in summer, £142 in winter, which is the daily sailing fee plus £30 a day for the instruction.
These run most months, with places announced by email. There is no RYA certificate: this is the club teaching its own.
The next session is the weekend of 10 and 11 October, run by the Training Director, starting at 10:00 because there is a night sail and a stay away. Spring tides allow a pilotage exercise into a creek on the Sunday, alongside close-quarters handling, night navigation and man overboard drills.
Priority goes to club skippers within three months of their two-yearly expiry, then to members who can only sail at weekends. You cannot book yourself on: ask the Training Director.
