Speedbird Offshore Yacht Club
Since 1965

Our history

Sixty years of shared offshore sailing, from a single wooden yacht to a member-owned club of over 300.

Formed in 1965, the Speedbird Offshore Yacht Club evolved from the British Airways Yacht Club. Today we own two yachts on the River Hamble and have an active membership of over 300 individuals from all walks of life.

We offer the most affordable sailing in some of the UK's most popular waters. We are not only affordable, though: as an RYA recognised training centre we teach the full pathway ourselves, with our own experienced skippers.

From a single wooden yacht to a fleet that has wintered in Majorca and crossed to the Channel Islands, all of it member-driven.
